The year of the potato

My, my, my...

Now this looks interesting. It's one of the many new foods set to debut at the Minnesota State Fair this year.  It looks like they have a lot of potato foods, which is awesome.  Not to mention these culinary delights...

• peach glazed pig cheeks
• the "pot roast sundae": a scoop of mashed potatoes covered with roast beef, gravy, corn — and topped with a cherry tomato
• Ole and Lena's "deep-fried Norwegian banana split" — a banana rolled in lefse, deep fried and topped with ice cream, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, whipped cream and nuts

I think I just had a Maalox moment...  Mmmmm.
